Coach

Coach Eric Littleton is a 1990 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and former student assistant coach for Dean Smith and the UNC Tar Heel basketball program. Most recently, Littleton was chosen by his teaching peers as the 2017-18 Flower Mound High School Teacher of the Year where he ultimately retired from coaching in the spring of 2024.

After graduating from UNC with his degree in English Education in 1990, Coach Littleton served as an assistant coach at the University of Arkansas Little Rock. At the time, Littleton was the youngest division I assistant coach in the country. After finishing a two-year stint at Arkansas Little Rock, Littleton was named the first head coach of the newly established Edmond North, Oklahoma High School, where he was the youngest 6A head coach in the state.  In only the school's second season, they broke into the top 10 in Oklahoma's largest classification, 6A, where they remained for the remainder of Littleton's tenure. In 1999 Littleton was named the head coach of Cascade College in Portland, Oregon. Once again, in only his second season at Cascade College Littleton's team posted the best record in school history and competed for the school's first conference title. After Cascade College Littleton coached overseas on Okinawa Island.

Littleton is the former head coach of 6A Flower Mound, Texas High School.  Over his thirteen years at Flower Mound High School the Jaguars  won the most games in school history in 2012-13 (26), won the second most games in school history in 2015-16 (25) and 2019-20 (25), won the third most games is school history in 2017-18 (24)  made the playoffs in 2013, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2020 with the 2015 season being a play-in game, made the playoffs in three consecutive seasons in 2016, 2017, and 2018 for the first time in school history, posted the most wins in any three-year stretch in school history 2017-18, 2018-19, 2019-2020(71 wins) and the second best three-year stretch in school history in the 2015-16 , 2016-17, and 2017-2018 (70 wins), posted the most wins in any two-year stretch in school history the 2016-17 and 2017-18 season (45 wins), posted the most wins in any 6-year stretch in school history(2012-2018), had the best finish in district in school history (2017-18), posted the second best district finish in school history (2016-17), beat the number one ranked team in the state of Texas for the first time in school history (2016-17), and broke into the Texas 6-A top ten for the first time in school history (2015-16).  During the 2017-18 Littleton’s Flower Mound team also ran the table the second half of district play for the first time in school history, winning all seven games by an average of 16 points on their way to winning 16 of their last 19 games. Littleton’s 2019-20 team gave the Jaguars their fifth consecutive 20-plus win season for the first time in school history and their third 25-win season in five years. During that 2019-20 campaign Littleton's Flower Mound team also was ranked as high as 3rd in the state of Texas and 9th nationally by MaxPreps.com. Over the 2015-20 seasons, Littleton's teams won 115 games which is, once again, the best 5-year stretch in school history.

In 2005 Littleton published his first book, Fifth-Quarter Faith: Lessons to Learn When the Game is Over.  In Fifth-Quarter Faith, Littleton highlights what he calls the "missed teachable moments" in sports settings than can be used to build character, faith, and values in our young people.  Littleton’s second book, Solomon's Gift, details the devastating illness one of his twin sons, Solomon, contracted and the ensuing journey of self-discovery that he and his family experienced on their way to discover the power of relentlessly pursuing hope, unconditional love, and joy in the face of great tragedy and struggle.  Littleton now speaks to groups, sharing his family's story and the power of never giving up in the face of challenges.

Littleton is a native of Ada, Oklahoma and has been married to his high school sweetheart, Marci, for 38 years.  The Littletons have twin sons, Isaac and Solomon (21 years), and a daughter, Carolina Grace (18 years). Isaac is currently studying film at Savannah College of Art and Design while Carolina Grace is attending John Cabot University in Rome, Italy where she is studying Journalism. Solomon lives in Flower Mound, Texas with his mom and dad and loves riding the golf cart, the tandem bicycle with his dad, and visiting the lake house and riding the boat.
